This magnificent Monsieur Nox vase by Stefania Boemi is made of terracotta. It depicts a Sicilian nobleman with a youthful face, adorned with a moustache and a turban topped with a necklace. The eyes are highlighted with gold. This vase draws inspiration from Sicilian tradition and, with a modern sensibility, revives the legend of love between a Moor and a Muslim girl.

The vase is entirely handmade and painted in a monochromatic shade, rich in natural pigments and resin binders that ensure intense colour depth.

This vase was created by the Sicilian artist Stefania Boemi. She seeks her materials among objects from the past that convey emotions linked to memory. These are Sicilian items, selected, unbound and reassembled, stripped and repainted, disassembled and reassembled. She observes and studies what best characterizes the island's traditions and re-evaluates their use. The main idea is to bring back to life previously known objects that have fallen out of use. Each piece is assembled by hand and transformed into a unique work of art.
