The gold colour of the DUE ICE ORO collection is applied using the PVD coating technique in a high vacuum. During this process, a metal, such as titanium, is converted into a vapour state. By adding a reactive gas, a thin and extremely firmly adhering coating is then created on the surface.

This technology was developed for the aerospace industry and has found application in the production of cutlery and other kitchen items. Thanks to this technology, the surfaces of objects are hard and resistant to scratching, corrosion, and fading, and are easier to clean.
