This silver cutlery HOFBURG 189 was created according to the shapes of cutlery from the 18th century. This beautiful cutlery is closely associated with the imperial household. The model was already used by Emperor Ferdinand in his residence in Prague . In 1881, it was part of the equipment of the young couple of the heir to the throne, Crown Prince Rudolf and Princess Stephanie of Belgium. In 1902, Stephanie commissioned Alexander Sturm to create a new service for the wedding of her daughter Archduchess Elisabeth.
Hofburg has been the official state cutlery of the Czech Republic since 1918. It is also used today to furnish Austrian embassies around the world.

Wiener Silber Manufactur was founded in 1882 by Viennese goldsmith and silversmith Alexander Sturm.
