Vito Nesta Designer wool rug KOI
Ike and Koi, Japanese for "pond" and "carp", are two wool rugs in the shape of old Chinese paper umbrellas, tufted in India by the best craftsmen. The project is the result of Italian designer Vito Nesta's trip to Asia and his study of ancient 19th century Japanese prints of local fashion before Western contamination. This is where the idea for this iconic object was born, which in a dreamlike world represents happiness and the will to transform it into something that goes beyond the rug. Koi is a colorful rice paper rug in which a handful of lazy and sleepy carp swim.
