Kurfürst is a collection of so-called forest glass , the tradition of which in Theresienthal dates back to the 1890s. This series of glasses and jugs called Roemer was supposedly designed by designer Henriette Steigerwald , niece of the founder of the Theresienthal glassworks. The glass is characterized by a hollow, finely grooved cylindrical stem at the top decorated with plastic berries with a bell-shaped foot of a specific greenish color and a clear chalice with engravings of hunting motifs.
The Theresienthal glass factory was founded by Czech-German glassmakers, the Steigerwald brothers, in in 1836. As a crystal glass manufacturer, it has been operating on the market for more than 170 years. years and during this time it became popular around the world.
Craftsmanship is highly valued in Theresienthal , and that's why their products are from start to finish – from the production of wooden molds to blowing and modeling to engraving, grinding, decoration or gilding – exclusively handmade. The rich assortment reflects many years of experience, passion and the skill of local glassmakers, from many of whom have been working in Theresienthal for decades.
