The base of the POLO+ designer round chair is made of bent wood, so-called Bugholz or bentwood , painted in a matte charcoal black color. The seat is made of black oak, while the internal reinforcement of the seat is made of steel.

Wood bending is a very old technique developed by the German-Austrian cabinetmaker Michael Thonet. The solid wood, mostly maple or beech, is wetted (either by soaking or steaming), then bent and allowed to harden into curved shapes.
