An object that works with materials as if they were layers of a landscape.
The CLIFF vase seems to be assembled from several worlds at once. At the center stands amber blown glass – clean, smooth, translucent. This is the essential heart of the vase, which gradually disappears and reappears between two distinctive “stripes” of natural materials.
Halfway up, it is embraced by a ring of Rabitti1969 saddle leather – soft, warm and perfectly crafted. The leather acts as an elegant partition that interrupts the glass silhouette and gives it an earthy certainty. Above it, a massive travertine collar rises, structured, stony, naturally imperfect. This partially covers the glass, only to reveal it again a few centimetres higher. The glass thus “grows” out of the travertine like a spring from the stone.
The result is a vase that does not appear as a single whole, but as a composition of three thick material layers. Each has its own texture, temperature and character, yet resonates together as if they have always belonged together.
CLIFF is not just a vase. It is a meeting of glass, leather and stone in a form that has an unexpectedly architectural appearance, like a small monument that you can place in the middle of a room or use every day. The clever layering of materials makes it an object that will not look old even after years.
