Alain Saint-Joanis – The Kyoto model is a distinctive collection inspired by Japanese craftsmanship and the decorative aesthetics of traditional Asian design. The cutlery appears rich, textured, and striking – with an emphasis on material play and handle segmentation.

A characteristic feature is the handle divided into three distinct segments, evoking stylized angular bamboo. Each segment is optically separated by delicate grooves, creating a vibrant, handcrafted-looking structure with natural dynamism. The whole appears organic and decorative at the same time, with clear inspiration from Japanese minimalism.

The handles are available in three finishes. The light horn and black variations are made of high-quality resin, which accentuates the embossed character of the decor. The natural variation is made of real wood, which gives the collection a warmer, more authentic expression and highlights the natural grain of the material.

The cutlery heads are available in solid forged 18/10 stainless steel or in a 33 µ silver-plated version.

The solid forged 18/10 stainless steel cutlery head represents the pinnacle of traditional French craftsmanship. Forging from a single piece of steel ensures exceptional strength, perfect balance, and long life even with daily use. This manufacturing method also allows for precise definition of lines, finer detail, and significantly higher quality compared to commonly stamped cutlery. The surface is then hand-polished and finished in the spirit of traditional French orfèvrerie.

The cutlery is manufactured in the La Monnerie workshops in France, and each piece undergoes hand processing. The collection is also suitable for dishwasher use.

The basic set includes a dinner fork, dinner spoon, dinner knife, and coffee spoon. Individual pieces or a complete service according to the original nomenclature can also be ordered.
