Paramount Hotel New York and its timeless design
One of the most luxurious hotels in New York City, located in the heart of Times Square, the Paramount Hotel was first remodeled in 1986 by French design master Philippe Starck. The project became one of his most significant interior design projects. Its second remodeling took place in 2013 under the leadership of the world-renowned MEYERDAVIS studio.
The Paramount Hotel opened in 1928 as one of the first hotels in Times Square. It was designed by Thomas W. Lamb, one of the nation's foremost theater and cinema architects.
This hotel radiates the purity and freshness of Italian classicism. The classic herringbone parquet pattern is repeatedly used on the floor, in various public and service areas, creating a geometric rhythm and coherence between the various elements of the overall interior.
At the heart of the Paramount Hotel’s new transformation is a complete transformation of the hotel’s lobby. The mezzanine above creates an almost theatrical balcony with a view of the new design. With ample seating all around, you can enjoy an elevated view of the social scene below. The lobby’s modern interior design builds on the drama and glamour of Lamb’s original vision and enhances it with modern touches and rich muted tones to create a cozy, sexy atmosphere that will delight visitors and New Yorkers alike.
