KITCHEN TRENDS 2021
In the second part of our miniseries, you will learn what changes the modern kitchen is going through in 2021.
Last year we saw kitchens in navy blue, glass door panels and copper accents. This year the kitchen is changing not only in design, but especially in space and purpose. We spend more time at home and the kitchen has become the most used room. Here we present the latest kitchen trends. Let yourself be inspired.

1. HIDDEN KITCHENS AND HANDLE-FREE CABINETS
Few apartments or houses have a separate kitchen these days. Kitchens are integrated into living rooms. This year we are going one step further. Kitchen blocks are flexible in layout, practically merging with the remaining living space. We try to make the most of it and combine cooking with dining and relaxing in one room.
The cooking space is hidden, the door panels look like decorative wall finishes. The cabinet doors are handleless, with sensors that allow them to open and close smoothly.
2. Mesh fillings
Compared to last year, when we admired glass panels, mesh panels are trendy today. Combined with brass handles, the result is a beautiful art deco style with a touch of industrialism, which we will apply in modern and classic interiors.

3. Art in the kitchen
In this digital age, we are increasingly nostalgic, trying to slow down space and surround ourselves with personal objects. Thoughtfully designed kitchens today are carefully combined with works of art, decorative ceramics, cookbooks and other accessories.
This adds personality and style to the space. We don't hide things in cabinets and chests of drawers like before, but instead display them and take pride in them. The result is an original combination, something between maximalism and minimalism.
4. Wooden cabinets
This trend is making a comeback. If you like concrete trowels, use light ash wood. Darker woods like walnut look very luxurious and powerful.

5. Color contrasts
One of the easiest and least expensive options is to paint a wall in a color. Hand-painted kitchen cabinets are also very trendy, and fabric curtains under the sink are making a comeback. You can also choose colorful accents with colorful shelves, dishes, or countertops.
6. Marble
The absolute hit of this year's interior design season is marble. The more pronounced the veining, the better. Heavily veined marble has become synonymous with luxury and high standards in the world of design.
This material is also very durable and strong. Its ability to withstand trends makes it a very good investment. Marble is now making a comeback in the form of countertops, sinks, kitchen islands, but also dining tables, coffee tables, luxury garden tables, in bathrooms and more.
7. Gold accents
Gold has long been a material that expresses luxury and wealth, and gold accents and surfaces in the kitchen are no different.
They combine very nicely with marble, but also with wood, stone or other surfaces. We also attach great importance to the surface finishes of the sink, which, in addition to functionality, also represent an aesthetic aspect.

8. Double islands
In open-plan kitchens, the kitchen island has become an essential element.
It often serves as a work or dining table, a bar, and is simply a multifunctional accessory. This year, we are expanding the island to so-called double islands, where the islands are either separate or connected by an additional worktop.
9. Rounded shapes
The 1950s never cease to fascinate with their simplicity and subtlety. They constantly come back into fashion, and this year is no different.
10. Boiled water tap
How many times a day do you need boiling water, and how much time do you spend waiting for it to boil? This year's tech tip is the boiling water tap. A system that provides boiling water directly from the tap, safely and without waiting.
Invest in a kitchen, it will definitely pay off. It increases your comfort and also the selling price of the property.
